[Main Engineering]
Today had been a rather long and stressful day for Lieutenant O’Riley. Leaving Utopia Planitia he wanted everything to go flawlessly as far as engineering was concerned. He had accomplished his objective wanting to meet or exceed his Captain’s expectations; considering the rather intense interview previously.
As O’Riley’s shift was coming to a close he looked up seeing his replacement, the beta shift lead, walking into engineering. “Lieutenant Marcy Domas, nice to see you again” Liam commented with a smile happy to see his counterpart.
“Chief O’Riley, thank you, it is nice to see you as well” the female Klingon replied in her usual manner “I trust today went well.”
“Yes it did” he responded “Let’s take a walk around and I’ll bring you up to speed” as the two officers walked around engineering with Liam discussing what had transpired that day “So you see everything went without a hitch and hopefully your shift will as well. However if something serious should come up please don’t hesitate to call me regardless of the time.”
“I will keep that in mind Chief” then she paused “It would have to be something very critical before I would call you; you need your rest and down time just like the rest of us.”
“Thank you for that and I know you’re very capable of handling engineering or I would not have picked you for this position” he stated with a grin “It’s all yours”then turned to go to his quarters.
As Liam was exiting engineering he heard a familiar voice “Chief, done for the day” Stevie inquired while catching up to him.
Turning “Hi Ensign, yes I’m done with my shift and you” he replied with a smile.
“So am I” Stevie responded “I was wondering if you’d like to grab dinner with me.”
Liam thought for a moment “Any other time I’d say yes but unfortunately I’m beat and all I want to do is go back to my quarters, get out of this uniform, put on some comfortable clothes, and relax; raincheck?”
Stevie was a little surprised at his reply “Sure, a raincheck would be fine” she commented.
Liam could hear a little disappointment in her voice “Unless you’d like to join me in my quarters. We could have dinner, relax , and talk for awhile; if you wouldn’t find that too boring.”
“No, that would be nice for a change” she replied with a smile. What’s your room number; give me about thirty minutes to change out of this uniform then I’ll drop by.”
“Deck three room nineteen and please take your time coming over” Liam stated with a grin knowing women were quite particular on how they looked.
[Deck 3 Quarters]
O’Riley sat on the couch relaxing, having showered and dressed in a pair of sweat pants and a t-shirt, when his door chime went off. Going to the door he opened it see Stevie’s smiling face “Please come in and make yourself comfortable” he stated with a smile as he stood back to let his guest in.
“Thanks” as she proceeded to walk in and looked around “I have to admit your quarters are well kept; for a guy that is” she commented with a smirk.
“Thanks? I think” he replied with a grin “Truth be told I don’t like disorganization especially where I live” while noticing Stevie’s attire of snug fitting bluejeans, a red top low cut enough to show some cleavage but still be tasteful with her hair down falling around her shoulders “My don’t you clean up nice.”
Stevie was both pleased and impressed Liam even noticed “Thank you kind sir” she replied with a smile “I’m impressed you even noticed.”
Liam gave a light chuckle “I told you my eyesight was fine” then he paused “Not to cross the line or anything but I have to say you have a very lovely figure.”
Stevie walked into his personal space and told him in a sultry low voice “Don’t worry, I’ll let you know if you’ve crossed the line” as she stepped back “Actually it’s nice to see you in something else; although I noticed you at the party being one of the few people still in uniform.”
“Unfortunately uniforms are pretty much my entire wardrobe, except of course some lounging clothes to wear in my quarters” he explained “I have tried to replicate something else to wear but they never come out or fit right.”
Stevie had to chuckle “You mean to tell me you can keep a starship repaired and running at peak efficiency but you can’t replicate a few clothes” she commented “Good thing I’m here then” as she grabbed Liam by the hand “Let’s go over to the replicator” as she led the way.
“Ok, shirts first….remove yours so I can see what I’m working with” she suggested and Liam did as requested while she noticed a pretty good developed upper body “Not bad for an officer’ as she smirked “Ok you look like a large” then placed her hands by his waist “May I?” As he nodded yes she ran her hands down his torso sides “You should have your shirts tapered a little. Computer, man’s cotton shirt….size large and taper each side by one point five inches…..tan color.” Moments later the shirt appeared in the replicator.
Handing Liam the shirt “Here try this on and see how it fits” she commented.
Doing as requested he buttoned up the shirt then moving his arms around “Wow that fits really good and it’s comfortable” he replied with a smile.
“Good and it looks nice on you, especially being tapered on the sides, it shows off your upper body somewhat. Now the pants….waist size and inseam please.”
Thinking for a moment “Thirty two inch waist and thirty four inch inseam” Liam replied with a smile.
“Computer men’s denim jeans….relaxed fit…..waist thirty two inches and inseam thirty four inches” then Stevie paused looking at Liam “What side do you dress” she inquired.
Liam had no idea what she was referring to “Side I dress?”
Stevie laughed “Oh my gosh….you know which side your goodies end up when dressing” still not believing he didn’t know what she was referring to but found it rather cute.
Then it hit Liam like a ton of bricks “Oh….OH!!!! The right side as he could feel his face heating up a little.
“Computer, dresses right” Stevie commented and moments later she handed Liam the jeans “Here go in the bedroom and try these on…..move around…sit then tell me what you think.”
A few minutes later Liam walked out of the bedroom “These fit nicely and they’re comfortable” he stated with a smile.
Stevie walked around Liam noticing just how nicely the new clothes fit “See now that wasn’t all that difficult, was it” she commented with a smirk “Computer, save Lieutenant Liam O’Riley’s measurements in his database for future reference.”
“Of course it’s easy when you know what you’re doing” he replied with a grin “Thank you Stevie, I appreciate your help.”
“Anytime Liam…..besides a Chief needs to have little style in his life” Stevie replied teasingly “Now did you mention something about dinner earlier?”
“Yes I did, have a seat and I’ll get us a couple of dinner salads” he stated then turned headed towards the replicator. Moments later he returned with their dinners complete with beverages “Here you go, enjoy” as he sat beside Stevie while they ate and talked for awhile.
After finishing their meals “I couldn’t help but notice those tiny little trees over there. Where did you find something so tiny” Stevie inquired fascinated by their appearance.
Liam stood and grabbed one of his three tiny trees then sat “The concept is from ancient earth and is a Japanese art form called bonsai trees. I’ve had these for about eight years and periodically I train the trees to grow a certain way with wires and of course I keep them watered” as he handed the tree to Stevie.
Looking it all over she handed it back with a smile “You certainly are a man of many talents; I never would have guessed” she commented impressed with his hobby.
“Thanks…..so what do you like to do when off duty” Liam inquired wanting to know a little more about her.
“I like outdoor physical activities; of course most of the time I end up in the holo deck for obvious reasons “ she replied “My favorite activity is rock climbing; well actually wall climbing.”
Now it was Liam’s turn to be surprised “Really? I wouldn’t have pegged you for an outdoors type of person” he stated with a grin.
“It’s great exercise and you get to workout pretty much every muscle in your body all at the same time” Stevie explained then decided she would tease Liam a little “Besides how else do you think I keep this body looking this good.”
“Good point” he replied with a grin “And looks like it’s working just fine.”
Stevie was very pleased Liam complimented her on her appearance once again and was loving his style “Maybe you’d like to join me sometime in the holo deck and see for yourself the benefits” she suggested.
“I may just take you up on your offer; I could use a good workout” he replied with a smile then the two continued talking some more.
About twenty one hundred Stevie realized it was getting rather late “Liam I should be going; I think we both could use some sleep” as she stood.
Standing as well “Yes, I agree and thank you for your help with my rather limited wardrobe” as he grinned.
“It was my pleasure Liam” then she paused “Anytime you need different civilian clothes you have the measurements, so no more excuses” she commented in a playful way.
Liam grinned “Yes Ma’am” as they both laughed “Sleep well Stevie.”
“You too” then she leaned in and gave Liam a quick peck on the cheek “Thanks for dinner” she replied in a soft voice, then she turned and left his quarters.
Liam grabbed a quick drink then made his way into the bedroom and crawled into bed for some much needed sleep. As he was falling asleep a thought went through his mind “I rather enjoy spending some of my down time with Stevie.”
