[Deck 4 Quarters]
Stevie had showered, dried off and was getting ready to go to the Lounge with Liam to celebrate her recent promotion in rank, and accommodation, in a more private manner. Since Liam had suggested going with civilian attire, Stevie was more than happy to comply. After brushing out her hair Stevie dressed in a black skirt, cut about an inch above the knee, with a white frilly low cut top; of course in a tasteful manner. Finally a pair of black flats to finished off her look.
Looking in the mirror “Hmm…..not bad…..not bad at all” she commented out loud before splashing on some of her favorite perfume.
Shortly Liam arrived at her door dressed in a pair of black dress pants, a medium blue shirt with the sleeves rolled up to three quarter length, and a black vest; all of which he had replicated.
Hearing the door chime go off Stevie went and opened the door “Hi Liam, please come in” she commented with a smile as she steeped back to let him in.
Waking in “ Hi yourself Lieutenant” Liam replied with a grin noticing this beautiful women with gorgeous legs which seemed to go on forever, her long brown hair down around her shoulders, and everything else in between. All he could say was “Wow! You look amazing.”
“Thank you Liam and you don’t look so bad yourself” Stevie replied with a grin seeing how nicely he was dressed when she noticed his shirt collar “Here, let me fix your collar for you” as she stepped in very close and straightened his collar while smiling and looking him in the eyes “You know Mr. O’Riley you keep complimenting me on how nice I look I may just get used to it and keep you around for awhile” she commented in a soft voice rather enjoying spending some free time with him; not to mention his role in her recent promotion.
Liam grinned “Now that’s the best news I’ve heard all week” not quite sure if Stevie was being serious or just teasing him; either way he was fine with it for the time being “Ready to go?”
“Yes I am” as the two officers walked out the door with Stevie securing her quarters.
[Deck 12 Valhalla Lounge]
Walking in they both noticed the lounge was rather sparse with the lighting subdued, soft music playing, and holo candles on each table when Stevie remarked “Isn’t this a nice romantic setting.”
Liam smiled “My thoughts exactly” as the two grabbed their dinners and beverages before going to a table.
When they arrived Liam put his food on the table then pulled out the chair for her to sit “Somebody has manners” Stevie commented with a smile being very impressed by his actions then sat as he went to his side of the table and sat as well.
“Thanks. My mother was big on manners; if she caught you doing something incorrect in her way of thinking you’d usually get slapped then scolded for ‘not minding your manners’. Needless to say I learned quickly” he explained with a slight laugh.
“And I’m glad she taught you so well; it’s very refreshing. Most men really don’t know the first thing about manners when it comes to a woman” she answered with a smile as they began to eat.
After a few minutes of silence “I can’t thank you enough for having a hand in my promotion in rank” Stevie commented with a smile “You have no idea what that meant to me “ then she paused “After all this time it’s nice to be taken seriously for my intelligence in spite of my looks.”
Looking into those gorgeous eyes “Actually YOU had everything to do with your promotion by being very good at what you do. I can’t help but wonder what might have happened if you hadn’t followed your instincts ” then Liam paused “After reviewing your personnel file I could see that all your hard work and commitment to your duties had been overlooked way too long; I merely pointed it out to command” he stated returning her smile.
Putting down her fork Stevie sat looking at Liam for a few moments “One things for sure, you managed to scare the crap out of me in the mess hall. I thought I was in some kind of big time trouble” she stated then continued “So……that wouldn’t be an attempt to get on my…..good side; personally speaking.”
O’Riley grinned “Just between you and I that little situation was the Captain’s idea; of course I went along with it. Leaning forward answering in a low voice “The one thing you’ll come to learn about me, I am able to separate my personal life from my duty life….so no that thought had never entered my mind. I was merely attempting to get you the recognition you deserved” he replied a little surprised by her question.
Realizing the gravity of her inquiry “I apologize Liam…..I didn’t mean to…insinuate you had ulterior motives” then she paused “Although it would serve you right after that little stunt you were part of” with a wry smile.
“Like I’ve said before, I’m not that type of officer” as he decided to change the topic of conversation “So how’s the rock, or wall, climbing going.” he stated with a grin.
Relieved the topic of conversation was changing she wiped her mouth with her napkin “Good. I’m getting better and better at it as time goes on” then she paused “So when are you going to take me up on my offer and join me….or did you forget” Stevie inquired curious as what his answer would be.
“No I didn’t forget. I’ve been very busy with my duties and even spent a couple of hours on my last day off helping a young female crewman get squared away. Maybe sometime this next week; if that works for you” Liam explained.
“Yes, that’ll work and I’m going to hold you to it” she replied then paused “So should I be jealous of this female crewman” in a teasing manner but was even more curious to his answer.
With a light chuckle “Hardly. She’s fresh out of the academy and I would prefer not to be with someone who could pass for my daughter” then he looked into those gorgeous eyes once again and in a low voice “I much prefer being with a women” curious where this conversation was going.
For the first time Stevie wasn’t sure how to reply to Liam then decided to go with her usual wittiness “So you think you can handle a women like me” she inquired teasingly in a low voice.
“I’d certainly like the chance to try” he replied seriously, being very nervous to her reaction.
With a smile “I think I’d like that” she replied thinking maybe there might be something here.
The two officers sat for the next hour talking about different things when Stevie put the back of her hand over her mouth and tried to stifle a yawn “Excuse me, I didn’t mean to do that” she explained a little embarrassed.
“If you’d like I’d be more than happy to walk with you back to your quarters” Liam commented.
Stevie smiled “That sounds good to me” she replied as the two left the table making sure their dishes were where they were supposed to be; they didn’t want to leave a mess behind.
[Deck 4 Quarters]
Once they arrived back at Stevie’s quarters she entered her security code then turned towards Liam “Would you like to come in for a drink and maybe talk some more” hoping he’d accept her offer.
“Sure…..you talked me into it” he replied with a grin. Walking in “Please have a seat on the couch, I need to get out of these clothes….I won’t be long” she commented then went into her bedroom where she quickly changed into a pair of sweat pants and a crop top.
Walking out into the living area “Would you like a glass of wine” she inquired.
“Yes please” Liam replied as he watched her walk to the replicator noticing how nicely the sweatpants hung off her butt which was accentuated by her bare midriff.
Stevie could see Liam’s reflection in the view port window noticing him looking at her butt; maybe he was interested as she smiled to herself.
Walking back with two glasses of wine “Here you go” as she handed one to Liam then sat next to him “You know I saw you checking out my butt as I was going to the replicator.”
Taking a few sips of the wine he placed the glass on the table then turned himself looking at Stevie with a big grin “Guilty as charged….it seems no matter what you wear it always looks so good on you.”
Stevie smiled looking at him for a couple of minutes “You know I can usually figure guys out…..but you Liam O'Riley are a mystery. I can’t tell if the way you act is really who you are or some kind of a game” she stated not quite believing any guy could be this good.
After taking another sip of his wine “I’m no mystery really and I’m too old to be playing games; that ship sailed a long time ago. But what I can tell you is ‘what you see is what you get’ as far as I’m concerned.”
“Hmm…..” then she paused a moment “Most guys I’ve gone out with would have tried their best by now to get me into bed….or at the very least kiss me.…you have done neither and obviously you like women” Stevie commented still not quite sure about Liam.
With a smile “The truth is I really like spending some of my off duty time with you, so I don’t want to push things and mess that up” then he paused “Also I like to get to know a women before I jump into bed with her; call me old fashioned but that’s just me. As far as kissing you goes; I’ve wanted to kiss you almost since the first time we met but like I said I don’t want to push things” Liam explained wondering if she’d just throw him aside and move on.
Something happened that he didn’t expect; Stevie slid closer and in a soft sultry voice looking Liam in the eyes with a smile “No time like the present” as she started to lean in. Liam met her halfway and gave her a nice kiss…not long but nice. She looked at him with a grin deciding to have a little fun “Not bad….not bad at all” then she leaned in a second time….this time the kiss lasted a little longer and was more passionate. Once the kiss was finished she looked at him “Ok” was about all she could manage to say at this point.
“So is that a good ok or a bad ok” Liam inquired with a grin not sure about her response.
Without a word she moved even closer then put her arms around Liam’s neck and pulled him in close as she kissed him like she hadn’t kissed a guy in a very long time. With a smile “That’s a very good ok” she replied thinking this guy might be worth the effort to invest some time in.
By this time Liam had all he could do to contain himself “As nice as this is, I should probably be going before I do something we may both regret” as he stood knowing this was the right thing to do at this particular time.
Stevie stood as well “You’re probably right” knowing full well she would like nothing more than drag him into her bedroom and have her way with him; then she realized she didn’t want to mess things up with Liam either.
She grabbed Liam’s hand and walked him to her door then turned and gave him one last kiss “Sleep well Liam and thank you for such a lovely evening; I really enjoyed myself” as she smiled.
“You’re welcome; I had a great time too. Have a good night” he replied then left her quarters before he changed his mind.
After Liam left, Stevie sat on the couch finishing her glass of wine thinking “What a week…..first a promotion in rank and now maybe a new personal relationship.” But Stevie knew only time would tell if this relationship would blossom into something or not.
