| Personal History | Talon was born to Benjamin and Rachael Yamaguchi. Due to her parents in Starfleet, Talon being one to five children spent the majority of her life being moved from posting to posting. While all her siblings had the goal to attend Starfleet Academy, Talon was the child who didn't want to sit in a classroom for another four years and Enlisted in Starfleet at the age of 18. The security field is what peeked her interest, therefore she made that her career. Crewman Apprentice Yamaguchi found herself assigned on DS4, which in her opinion was just a routine job. The young woman did her job well and in 2371 was promoted to Crewman and reassigned to the USS Armstrong. During her time on the Armstrong, Talon found herself in conflict with the Klingon Empire during the Federations brief war with them and then immediately with the Dominion. During the Dominion War, the Crewman found herself thrown into several situations where she found herself not on the frontline, but also fighting face to face with the Jem'Hadar and Cardassians. Both groups she developed a strong hatred form due the loss of many friends and comrades. In 2374, she was promoted to Petty Officer 3rd Class. This put her in a position to be the second in charge of the squad she was a part of. At the end of the war, the USS Armstong was ordered to report to the Utopia Planitia Shipyards to be decommissioned. During this time, Talon decided to take the next two months to be on shoreleave. She loved the opportunity to be a part of Starfleet, but the three years consisted of so much fighting and death. After taking a much-needed break, Talon was reassigned to the USS Victory along with the promotion to Petty Officer 2nd Class. Unlike in prior positions, this put Yamaguchi in a supervisory role. Over the next four years, Talon worked to ensure that her squad was the best in the Security Department. Not only did this draw the attention of the Chief Petty Officer in her Department, but also the Chief Security Officer as well. In 2380 with the full support of Chief Petty Officer Kareem Walker, Talon received a promotion to Petty Officer 1st Class. Two years later, Yamaguchi seriously began wondering what the next steps of her career was seriously going to be. She didn't mind security, but there seriously had to be much more. Wanting to become proffienct in the tactical side of things, the Petty Officer began to Tactical courses in order to learn and have a better understanding of weapons on a starship and station. This an additional training put her in a position to move from the Enlisted ranks and become a Warrant Officer in 2384. The following year, the USS Victory took on several personnel whose ship had been lost due battle with the Borg. Talon met and became close friend with Jerome Hunt the Chief Helm Officer. Eventually this led to a serious relationship followed by marriage. Not long after getting married the two welcomed twins Perea and Othello. Wanting to spend more time and take a different route in their careers, Jerome and herself put in for assignments on Earth. With a glowing recommendation, Talon was assigned as a Security Officer at Starfleet Headquarters in 2390 with a promotion to Staff Warrant Officer. During this same year they welcomed their third child Marie. After six years on Earth, Jerome had mentioned wanting to take on another assignment hoping to be a command position which would help with his goal of obtaining. Thinking about it, Talon agreed and with a dual transfer the family ended up at Xindus Station. In 2398, Yamaguchi was doing a very good job which resulted in a portion to Chief Warrant Officer. It was during this time that Talon started ask herself what the next step in her career was going to be. With a recommendation, Yamaguchi began training for a possible change to Intelligence Officer. When her husband was picked to the be the next Executive Officer of the USS Valkyrie, Yamaguchi found herself once again being uprooted with their children. This time, she hopes that this will lead and perhaps provide her with a sign on what to do next. |
